Metarch vs Sandcastles

Sandcastles goes wide: short form across three platforms, with hooks, scripts and transcripts. Metarch goes deep on one, and keeps the idea after you have found it.

The short answer

Sandcastles is built for short form video across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, and generates hooks, scripts and transcripts from the outliers it finds. Metarch is YouTube only and goes the other way: every video is scored against the channel as it was on the day it published, you are told when a tracked channel breaks out, and the idea is carried through production to what happened after it went live. Sandcastles has no free plan and starts at $49 a month.

What Sandcastles does that Metarch does not

This is the honest half, and it is worth knowing before you pick either one. Sandcastles publishes transcripts from any video, generated hooks, generated scripts, and tracking across Instagram and TikTok as well as YouTube. Metarch does none of those four and is not trying to.

If your work is short form across several platforms and you want the writing generated for you, that is what they are built for and we are not.

What a short form tool measures, and what it misses

Metarch keeps Shorts, long form and streams in separate pools, and they never average together. This matters more than it sounds. A channel with strong Shorts and weak long form reads as a healthy channel the moment you add the two together, and that is exactly the channel you would copy and then wonder why it did not work.

It also freezes the baseline at the day a video published, so a breakout on a channel that has since grown ten times still reads as a breakout. The full explanation is in the Library.

The price, and whether free means anything

Sandcastles publishes $49, $99 and $499 a month, with a risk-free trial and no permanently free tier, and meters usage in credits from 100 to 1,500 a month.

Metarch's free plan is not a trial and not a demo. It runs one channel properly: competitor tracking with notifications, unlimited ideas for that channel's production workflow, three isolated ideas outside it, and the Thumbnail Visualizer. Professional is €50 a month and nothing in it is metered by action.
